Resident Relations Manager

A Resident Relations Manager works in tandem with the leasing staff and directs the lease renewal efforts of an apartment community. The resident relations manager is responsible for providing exceptional service to community residents, future residents and the corporate management team. They routinely resolve any and all conflicts between residents and management by assessing the needs of the client they are assisting and providing a solution that not only coincides with the goals of the community but is beneficial for all concerned parties. In addition, they train and mentor leasing consultants on these same conflict resolution methods. The resident relations manager plans, markets, advertises and executes community events and resident gatherings.
Basic responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
- Greeting all residents, future residents and internal team members in a professional manner
- Keeping a high level of service in mind with every task while resolving conflict to benefit all concerned parties
- Familiarizing himself/herself with all aspects in the apartment leasing process and renewal process
- Promoting positive resident relations
- Respect the boundaries of confidentiality, fair housing laws and safety
- Running the renewal process and balancing lease expiration dates
- Planning and execution of resident events and gatherings
- Mentoring and training new leasing consultants in conflict resolution
- Vigilant tracking of market trends and implementation of said tracking through outreach and market surveys.
Ideal candidates will have:
- 1-2 years leasing experience
- Proven sales track record
- Ability to multi-task
- Projection of a professional image by following dress code and appearance standards as set forth by the community
- Exceptional skills in conflict resolution
- Strong customer service background and skills
- Basic typing and clerical skills
- Reliable transportation
- Excellent telephone skills
- A positive, upbeat attitude
- Empathy, not sympathy
- Clean criminal background
